Tropical Storm Debby Forms

Tropical depression strengthens into the fourth tropical storm of the season over the far eastern Atlantic Ocean. The center of Tropical Storm Debby is located about 300 miles west of the southernmost Cape Verde islands.
Debby is moving toward the west-northwest near 18 mph and this general motion is expected to continue for the next 24 hours.
Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 24 hours. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 45 miles from the center.
