Tropical Depression Forms in Caribbean

A tropical depression drenched St. Vincent and Trinidad on Monday, possibly killing two people in a mudslide and destroying several homes, authorities said.
The tropical depression formed Sunday and was expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Gamma, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida.
By the end of the week the storm is expected to be south of Jamaica, where the Caribbean is still warm enough to feed a major hurricane, said hurricane specialist Stacy Stewart.
It is not expected to threaten the United States.
