The eyewall of intense Hurricane Wilma battered Cozumel on Friday. As of late afternoon, the eye of the storm was over Cozumel giving them a temporary break. Conditions around Cancun will continue to go downhill through the evening. Look for torrential rain, damaging wind, increasing surf and beach erosion. Because Wilma is moving slowly, these conditions will continue well into Saturday.
