Tropical Storm Gert Forms — Poorly Organized

Tropical Storm Gert has formed in the western Gulf of Mexico. Strength is currently 40mph winds, and a tropical storm warning is in effect from Palma Sola to La Cruz. The storm is broad and has a poorly defined center. It’s currently approximately 250 KM east-southeast of Tampico Mexico.
Gert is moving toward the west-northwest about 10mph. This motion is expected to continue for the next 24 hours. The forcast track expects the center of Tropical Storm Gert to reach the coastline withing the warning area this evening.
