A mighty Hurricane Emily hit the northeastern Mexico coast today and is weakening as it heads inland. Still a terror at Category Two, it should continue to lose strength as it moves over land.

A hurricane warning remains in effect for northeastern Mexico from south of the Texas / Mexico border to La Cruz.
